Black Pond Dye provides a mirror like reflective surface to your pond or water feature and prevents the growth of unsightly green algae and blanket weed. Black Pond Dye is commonly used by landscape gardeners and uses a safe, economical dye that restricts the light from the sun penetrating the water column, therefore cutting off the light source which causes algae and blanket weed to grow. Black Pond Dye is safe for use with emergent and floating aquatic plants and helps to protect fish from predators such as herons. Harmless to all other forms of life in the pond.

Do:

• Shake bottle well
• For best results use in spring before the algae becomes too established or use Magiclear first to clarify the water. For complete control repeated additions should be made monthly as the colour fades. 
• Mix the correct dose in a clean bucket of pond water, then pour evenly around the pond.

Caution:

• Undiluted product will stain

Q: How long does Blay Pond Dye last? A: The lifetime of the black pond dye is highly variable due to the water conditions, but it should last approximately one month in reasonable conditions.

Q: Does having a uv on shorten the life of Black Pond Dye? A: UV filtration will shorten the lifespan of the dye, as it will break down the pigments over time.
